Little Ol’ Me

Sewing since my foot could touch the pedal (sewing machine pedal, that is), I hold an MFA in Theatrical Costume Design from Carnegie Mellon and work in Theatre, Film and TV.   I supplemented my way through school by working in a couture studio and by altering bridal gowns.  I love anything crafty and enjoy dabbling in photoshop, photography, goccoing, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting and about any other item I can glue, sew, or paint.   I also have a special fondness for tiny sewing notions and office supplies. Since we bought a new house in February 2008 and were married that October, my newest passion is DIY decorating and party planning. (Update to that: I discovered quilting during the nesting phase of my pregnancy.  I am obsessed!).  We welcomed our son, Liam Henry, in September 2009.

On my search for all things crafty, I have found that sewing is still the ugly step-sister to the new craft-movement.  Still stuck in the 80’s, most clothing patterns and bridal sewing books leave a lot to be desired if you are under 50, slightly hip and don’t wear ruffled blouses or leg-o-mutton sleeves. My aim is to create a blog with everything a hip, crafty, and somewhat geeky girl needs to know.  Stylish sewing projects, modern bridal alterations, DIY party decor, and tiny gadgets that will save the day are my aim.

read, create and enjoy!
